Passport and Visa
Cambodia has very liberal visa regulations. For US$20 per person, travellers can obtain a tourist visa valid for 30 days upon arrival at Phnom Penh and Siem Reap airports, at the Bavet/Moc Bai border-crossing coming from Ho Chi Minh, or at the Aranyaprathet/Poipet border crossing coming from Thailand.
A passport with 6months or more validity remaining and 1 passport photo are all that is required.
Every traveller has to complete immigration from prior to/or upon arrival.
Visitors arriving overland from Laos must obtain a visa prior to reaching the Cambodian border.

Population
Cambodia boasts a population of 12 million. Over 90% of the population are ethnic Cambodians, called Khmers. The remaining 10% of the population consists of Vietnamese, Chinese and nomadic tribes.
Religion Over 90% of the population is Buddhist. The other two main religions are Christianity and Islam.
Electricity
The current for the whole of Cambodia is 220 volts AC at 50 cycles.
Health Requirement
No vaccinations are required (unless travelling through contaminated areas).
Immunisation against polio, typhoid, tetanus, and hepatitis A&B are strongly recommended.
Drinking water
Tap water is clean but drinking from it directly should be avoided. Bottled water is recommended.
Currency
Cambodian local currency is the Riel. However, in Phnom Penh and most major tourist destinations the US$ is widely used and accepted.
Currency Exchange
One US Dollar is equivalent to approximately 3,900 Riels.
Credit cards are only accepted at major hotels and some foreign owned restaurants. Travellers' cheques and currencies other than the US dollar are only accepted at major banks.
It is best to carry US Dollar bill sin small denominations.
Airport Tax
Airport tax for international flights from Phnom Penh and Siem Reap is US$25 per person. Tax for all domestic flights is US$6 per person.
