Passport and Visa
Holders of a valid Canadian passport may obtain their tourist visa upon arrival at most major airports and seaports, but travellers should check with the nearest Indonesian embassy prior to arrival. Travellers who are entering by land must obtain a visa prior to arrival at an Indonesian embassy or consulate. The cost of a three-day visa is US$10 and a 30-day visa is US$25. Travellers should arrive with the appropriate amount in U.S. dollars. All U.S. dollar bills must have been issued after 1999 and be in good condition. Health Requirement

Drinking water
Tap water is clean but drinking from it directly should be avoided. Bottled water is recommended.

Currency
Indonesian currency is the Rupiah (IDR).

One Candian Dollar is equivalent to approximately 8.047 Rupiah

Credit cards are only accepted at major hotels and some foreign owned restaurants. Travellers' cheques and currencies other than the US dollar are only accepted at major banks.

It is best to carry US Dollar bill sin small denominations.

Airport Tax
Airport tax for international flights from Bali and Siem Reap is US$25 per person. Tax for all domestic flights is US$6 per person.
